Motorway Riding
An ideal course for long distance commuters, or for people
who want to cover lots of miles in the shortest time. Motorways
and dual carriageways are generally covered here, with the
emphasis on anticipation and awareness, as things can change
very quickly on motorways, and they change at high speeds.
This course can also help people who have recently passed
their bike test, as motorways can be intimidating at times,
to say the least! Courses can be run over any time scale,
and charged at the normal rate.
Country Lanes
Ahhh...the open road, the wind in your face, possibly the
best place to get the most fun out of a bike on public roads!
This course is suitable for all levels of riders, but especially
people who have recently passed their bike test, as riding
around country lanes for a bike test, is well, subtly different
shall we say, to more advanced riding.
Areas covered on this course include typical things like,
how to read the road ahead for maximum visibility, as well
as safety, positioning and awareness. There are also in depth
briefings on advanced lines, cornering techniques, and braking
techniques, along with a few do's and don'ts. Far too many
accidents happen on country lanes, and believe it or not,
a lot of this is down to rider error. Courses can be run over
any time scale and charged at the normal rate
Town Riding
This may well be the place most of us spend time on a bike,
as it makes perfect sense, which is why over the last seven
years or so, a generation of city commuters has been spawned!
This is a perfect course for everyday commuters or someone
who is new to city riding, but especially for new CBT certificate
holders. City riding can be very hectic, chaotic and stressful,
which more often than not will have an affect on the riders
own style. We can make sense of the surrounding chaos with
increased awareness and planning.
Certain topics covered are junctions, roundabouts, anticipation,
route planning and of course filtering! Courses can be run
over any time scale and charged at the normal rate.
Night Riding
As winter comes and the days get shorter, night riding is
unavoidable. This course suits all riders as there are firstly
briefings on advanced techniques, and then more importantly
how we can use and adjust those techniques at night to be
able to read the road just as well, with far less clues than
in daylight in order to ride safer, with more awareness.
The training can be done on any kind of road, but there is
more emphasis on country lanes where visibility is worst at
night. Courses are run either at half day rate, or at an hourly
rate, which means this particular course can be linked with
other courses which are run in the daytime.
Bad Weather Riding
A course which is recommended to everyone, as living in the
U.K inevitably means some riding under sometimes unpleasant
conditions, even for fair weather riders!
Most of us have probably already experienced this, but knowing
how weather conditions actually affect us and what to do before
things get out of control is another matter. How weather conditions
affect us will be explained on this course, along with how
we need to adapt our style to compensate for these changes,
and of course the changes the road surface takes under these
conditions. Courses can be run over any time scale and charged
at the normal rate.
Back 2 Basics
Riding
The perfect course for someone who has a CBT or full license,
but hasn't ridden for a while, or maybe purchasing a new bike
has raised a few questions?
This course will start with the basics...braking, cornering,
slow control and emergency stops! As progress is made then
more advanced techniques can be brought into the array, until
the rider is completely happy and confident with the bike,
themselves and what theyÕve been taught. Courses can
be run over any time scale and charged at the normal rate
Maintenance
It always helps to know and understand how and why certain
things work on motorbikes. With this knowledge, along with
how to fix these things, small problems can be corrected before
they develop into larger problems, which are generally more
time consuming and more costly.
This course is an in depth look at basic maintenance, where
we will go over practically the whole bike showing how things
work, how to replace bits and how to identify problems just
from the feedback you get from the bike whilst riding! The
only part of the bike that we don't get into is the engine,
as specialist tools are normally needed and these can vary
from bike to bike. Maintenance courses can be run over any
time scale and charged at the normal rate.
