Direct Access (DAS) Info
In order to take the full unrestricted motorbike test, the
licence holder must be at least 21 years of age, hold a CBT
certificate and a Theory Test certificate. The first step
is to complete Compulsory Basic Training or CBT. This is a
one day course, at the end of which a certificate will be
issued if the rider shows competence in all aspects of road
riding and bike control. The certificate will enable the holder
to ride any motorbike up to 125cc with L-plates, but not be
able to take a pillion or ride on motorways. CBT courses are
run seven days a week and include bike hire, petrol, insurance
and equipment hire if needs be. Prices vary slightly if bike
hire is needed or not, so please contact us for more information
on course costs and availability.
Once a CBT certificate and Theory Test certificate have been
obtained, you can then book onto one of our intensive DAS
(Direct Access Scheme) courses. These vary from two to four
days depending on the riders experience and competence toward
larger motorbikes. On completion of a DAS course, and in passing
the practical test on the last day, your licence will entitle
you to ride any motorbike in the world! Bike hire, petrol,
insurance, equipment hire and the practical test fee are all
inclusive on theses courses, but prices do vary depending
on how many days training is needed, so please contact us
for more information on courses costs and availability.
